Father Abraham Had Many Sons

June 5-June 11

Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and
his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is
flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go
well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and
how much I love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and
my soul.
In Jesus name, Amen

I am His chosen one.

Isaiah 41:8
I am blessed because I obey.
Genesis 22:18
When I sin I break the law, in fact sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:4

God wants us to trust Him to keep His promises.

Isaiah 41:8, You, O Israel, you are My chosen ones; for you are
Abrahams family and he was My friend.

God chose the children of Abraham 400 years before He introduced

Himself to them as their God. Being chosen made them special, but
it brought with it some big challenges. They were the first nation that
God would use to build a culture where His goodness could be seen.
So they were being trained on how to think and act like God. The
standards and the tests for their culture was The Law. Some of the
tests they passed and some they failed. When they did well God
blessed them and when they failed, He corrected them.
The Jewish people had special privileges with God. He promised them
they would have their own land, build the Kingdom of God, and the
Messiah would come through them. When Abraham died he had 2 sons,
Isaac & Ishmael, and 2 grandsons (twins) Jacob and Esau. Jacob had
12 sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel and Esau had 14 sons who
along with Ishmaels family became the Arabs. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and
their descendants are called Gods Chosen People. Other names they
are known by are the Israelites, Jews, and Hebrews.
But the most important thing to know is that they are Gods Chosen
People because of the covenant that Abraham made with God over
1,000 years ago that still stands. Being chosen is hard; it means that
people are watching you. God wanted them to share the knowledge
of God to the world. He said they would be a kingdom of priests with
a special connection to God. As they continue to build the country of
Israel, they are an example of how God fulfills His promises. Through
Israel God will show the world how to be close to Him by living and
worshiping Him.
