an amendment is from the constitution.

laws, and key U.S. Constitutional provisions
SS.CV.3.5: Compare the origins, functions and structure
of different systems of government.
Objective
Objective
Students will be researching facts about the Constitution reviewing
online resources with a group. Students will then transfer these facts to
paper and the teacher will check these facts at the end.
The next day students will fix any changes and transfer the correct
facts to a poster board. Students will present this information to the rest
of the class as each group goes to the front of the room.
The teacher will asses students on the corrections of their information
as well as reliable sources.
Resources: Computers, poster boards, paper, pencil.

Students will brainstorm feelings that they might have felt if there
was a revised constitution that came out this year, 2016.
Students will share their thoughts through a discussion with the
rest of the class.
Afterwards, students will reflect on some general thoughts and
feelings that the class expressed during the lesson in their
journals.

Students will be given a notecard with an amendment on it and asked
to write on the back of the card why this amendment might have been
written and why it may work in society.
Students will choose a partner to switch notecards with and will form a
discussion. The teacher will walk around to make sure everyone is on
task and talking about the topic.
Students will then return the notecards to the original person and turn
them in.

Students will take their notecards with the attached piece of
paper back to their seat. Students will then write solutions to these
amendments and why they were instilled in the Constitution at the
bottom of the paper with a different colored pen/marker. Students
will then use the computers to research their amendment and add
any additional information to their response.
