WATER CYCLE

Biology

Most (97%) of the water on the Earth is salty .

Only 3% of Earths water can be used.

Water Cycle
In this cycle, water evaporates into the air and becomes a part
of a cloud, falls down to earth as precipitation, and then start all
process again.

Water Cycle powered by

1.Gravity (PRECIPITATION)

2. Solar energy (EVAPORATION)

The step of Water Cycle

1.Precipitation - Water falls down from the sky as rain , hail or snow.

2.Infiltration - When water falls on the ground and it soaks into the floor.

3.Run-off - Occurring when water doesnt soak in the ground or flow down to
river , ocean and creeks.

4. Evaporation - When water turns into a gas called water vapour and flow up
to the air.

5.Transpiration - Water releases into the air by plants in the process.

Transpiration and Evaporation

Similar
Both transpiration and evaporation is the process when water flows up into
the air.
Difference
Transpiration - It is the loss of water by plant.
Evaporation- It is a physical process can be occurred on any free surface such
as ocean, soil.

6.Condensation - When water vapour turns back into liquid in the sky.

Animal and water cycle

Animal contributes to the water cycle as it breathing out and sweating. Water
is excreted through the skin and make the animal cool down.Other forms of
excretion is urination. This way, the water will be absorbed into the ground.

The major reservoir of water

Reservoirs are places where water is stored.
-Oceans

glacier

-Glaciers
-Ice caps
-Lakes
-Atmosphere
-Ground water

Why Water Cycle is important for human

-Human need to drink water to survive.
- Human use large amount of water doing many activities such as agriculture, food processing.
- Water provide transportation.
- Water is the most important component of any ecosystems.

The human activity that affects the water cycle

Deforestation
Normally trees will release water vapour when they transpire.
-The deforestation will affect the weather because if trees are cut down, it will
have less water to be evaporated into the atmosphere. So there will have less
rainfall.

Global Warming
Greenhouse Gas make Earths atmosphere warm
-

Warmer air causes more evaporation.

The Effect Of Tropical Rainforests destruction has

on the water cycle.
-The rainforests add water to the atmosphere through the transpiration
-Trees will absorb water in their roots. Then some of moisture is transpired
to atmosphere.
Effect: - less water will run through the river.
- dont have enough water to evaporate.
- water cycle cant continue the process
- no more water and plants help to evaporate water into the air.
