Single-phase DC-AC grid-connected inverter

The purpose of DC-AC inverter is to take DC power from a battery source and converts it to AC. For
example the household inverter receives DC supply from 12V or 24V battery and then inverter converts
it to 240V AC with a desirable frequency of 50Hz or 60Hz. These DC-AC inverters have been widely used
for industrial applications such as uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and AC motor drives.

The Switches are in position 1 during DTs and in position 2 during (1 D)Ts . The switching frequency fs
is much greater than the AC line frequency ( 50 Hz) so by controlling the switch duty ratio D, it is possible
to generate a sinusoidal AC current iac in phase with the AC line voltage, as long as the input DC voltage
Vdc is sufficiently high.
