Issues relating to my documentary:

OPINION & BIAS:

Opinion - A view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based
on fact or knowledge.
Cambridge Dictionaries Online (2014) Opinion meaning in the Cambridge English
dictionary. Available at: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/opinion
Bias - inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a
way considered to be unfair.
Cambridge Dictionaries Online (2016) Bias meaning in the Cambridge English dictionary.

In my documentary there is no bias as there is one person

telling a story about his career in football so he is not being
bias towards teams that he has played for or against. The
opinion in my documentary is that his career was positive and
interesting for the documentary. These are important because I
want the documentary to be fair even though he cant be
biased in the documentary and opinion is important because
the subject of my documentary will have opinion on the times
that he had in the clubs so the audience will know what he felt
at the time.
COPYRIGHT:
The problem that I may have with copyright is that I may not
credit the original owner and that theyll want it to be taken
down, but I am going to fully credit the original owner so that I
am not breaking any of the copyright regulations and so that
my documentary can be a success and educate the viewers.
Copyright is important because it makes sure that I am not
stealing any content that is mine, any content that I have used
and isnt mine will be credited fully to make sure I dont breach
any regulations set. An example of copyright was when claims
that Star Wars stole ideas from Battlestar Galactica and Buck
Rogers was paid 20,000 dollars to show that they were made
from two different cloths.
The exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed
number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or
musical material.

ACCURACY:
I want my documentary is be accurate, I am going to get the
correct information from the subject so that the audience will
not question what they are being told by the suspect, so I will
have footage or some other kind of evidence to back up what
they are being told. Accuracy is important because if a
production is not correct it will harm your reputation in any
field, someone in the public will call you out on it and no one
will trust what you are saying. An example of this is when CNN
gave inaccurate information to the audience, they said that
Hong Kong was part of South America and that Obama offered
to fund for a Muslim culture museum but it did not stop them
from telling the audience. The condition or quality of being true, correct,
or exact; freedom from error or defect; precision or exactness; correctness.

BALANCE & IMPARTIALITY:

These words mean that you have to remain unbiased in your
documentary. My documentary doesnt have anything that can
show bias, the documentary is about one person, and its not
showing one story over another one and trying to make that
one look better, its one character telling his story not against
anyone else, these are important because it is vital that your
work is one hundred percent true so that it does not ruin your
reputation, A show, Loose Change reported a serious lie about
9/11 saying that the attacks were orchestrated by the
Government. Dictionary (no date) The definition of impartiality, in Available at:

not partial or biased; fair; just:

OBJECTIVITY & SUBJECTIVITY: the state or quality of being objective:

These mean that when you are looking at some work, you need
to remain objective to the work in front of you instead of
thinking that the work is usually good so you remain objective

and mark the work in front of you, subjective is when you like a
certain topic and present it in the way you feel about it. When I
was making my documentary and I came with a positive mind
set which I would want my documentary to represent because I
am a huge football fan and I would want to represent football in
a good way. This is important because it can portray the way
your documentary is presented depending on how you feel or
how the work is usually seen, an example of this was when the
government accused the BBC of being too quick to follow the
line taken by the Guardian newspaper in its coverage of benefit
reforms, saying that they lacked, objectivity, balance and
impartiality. Dictionary (no date) The definition of objectivity, in Available at:

ACCESS & PRIVACY:

These mean that you need permission to do something and
that you are not doing something without the subjects
permission. I am not invading anyones privacy for me to get
information, the research done online is there for me to use and
the documentary is on my dad who is willing to talk about his
career in football. This is important because it could harm the
production of your documentary, an example of this is when
reporters hacked the phone of Milly Dowler, they had hidden
microphones, cameras and recording telephone conversations.
the ability, right, or permission to approach, enter, speak with, or use;
admittance. the state of being apart from other people or Dictionary (1400) The
definition of privacy, in Available at: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/privacy?s=t

concealed from their view; solitude; seclusion

CONTRACT WITH THE VIEWER:

This means that the synopsis is telling the audience what the
production is and that it has to meet this when it is shown to
the audience. I am promising the viewer that they will learn
something from this documentary, the information is
interesting and people who either love football or dont have a
great interest will both benefit from my documentary. This is
important because the audience need to know what youre

saying is one hundred percent true so that your reputation is

not harmed.
