Solar Turbine Enclosure Ventilation Louver

Description
Steel/aluminum construction (see material chart below) inlet louvers for filtering ventilation air to turbine
enclosure. Overall dimensions are 49.38 high X 88.75 long x 10.75 deep. Approximate weight of unit is
165 pounds. Hinged connection designed to meet and attach to inlet filter house or silencer or outlet duct.
Receiving Inspection
Upon receipt of the unit, check the nameplate against the packing list to verify the correct part numbers are
received.
Keep the shipping container to protect the unit until installation.
Prior to unpacking check for shipping damage.
Advise Solar of shipping damage within three days.
Storage
Leave any cardboard boxing, plywood covering, crating, and/or plastic covering intact until ready to install.
Be sure that all openings are closed so that no debris, vermin, rain, snow and/or ice can get into unit.
Store unit on blocks, a minimum of 4 high so that air can freely circulate around unit.
Do not store in contact with the ground or in a wet or flooded area.
Indoor ambient temperature storage is preferable. If this is not possible, keep the unit covered and protected
from the weather. Keep out of direct sunlight. If in direct sunlight cover with dark, UV protected plastic.
Mounting and Installation
Clean unit prior to installation. Remove any minor corrosion and refinish per paint manufacturers
recommendations
Contractor is responsible for providing temporary bracing and supports for all equipment until installation of all
components is completed.
Attachment hardware is not included with the unit.
Bolt the lower support bracket directly to the flange of the mating component(filter house, silencer or duct).
The louver ships in two halves, rest one side of the louver on the center support and bolt the hinge directly to
the mating flange face. The hinges include slots to adjust the gap between louvers. Repeat for other half.
With the louvers in the proper position, tighten all bolts and attach the top and bottom brackets to the flange
face.
Ensure that the unit is firmly mounted immediately prior to startup of the equipment, and again 24 hours after
startup to verify that supports and/or flange bolts have not vibrated loose from the foundation or structure.
Inspection and maintenance
Spare parts are not required.
Periodically inspect paint finish for damage or deterioration. NOTE: Minor localized damage may be touched
up using touch-up paint. Areas with extensive damage or deterioration may require spot blasting and
recoating. Consult
paint manufacturers recommendations.
Examine connecting flanges and hinge bolting at least annually. Retighten loose nuts as required.
