What are the objectives of this project? For use in showing that our team is a good fit for Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other Client projects

What do you want it to do? Convey competency, professionalism, expertise

How does this project fit into your organizations long-term goals? Assists us with winning
projects to provide company revenue

What form do you want this project to take? A 12 x 18 layout that will be trimmed to 11 x 17
with full bleed. Final document will be printed in full color on both sides with a center fold that will
result in four 8.5 x 11 panels. CMYK Format with 300 DPI resolution for High Res Printing.

What are the deliverables? (size, software application file format, print or electronic, etc.)
Designer to provide fully editable files in Adobe PhotoShop or InDesign and print-ready pdf.

What budget has been allocated to this project? $250

Has a budget been approved? Yes

What date does this project need to be completed by? Print-ready by 5/19/2016

What are the corporate identity requirements? (Logos, logo standards, corporate Pantone
colours, symbols, trademarks, signature motifs, or other graphic elements) Logos will be
provided in Photoshop with Pantone colors. Landmark Logo has transparent elements which can
be placed over other colors as needed/appropriate.

Message:

What is our message? Clients should select us because they can have confidence that we will
provide them a quality product that they can be proud of. We are familiar with Transportation
Design and FDOT requirements.

Tone: What tone will should we set to influence the audiences perception of the company or our product.

Adjectives which convey our intended tone: Professional, High Quality, Friendly / Likeable,
Value-Minded, Current but not trendy, Serious but not stodgy

What tone and imagery will engage the audience? Professional layout with organized, easy to
read text. Traditional colors with a graphic, magazine feel will allow audience to easily follow our
message. Clean imagery, not cluttered.

Doctors Lake Drive in Clay County, Florida The bridge was designed to be

supported at each end bent on 12-inch diameter closed-end, driven pipe piles
designed for a maximum factored design load of 15 tons per pile.

MAEs tasks for the project included exploring the subsurface conditions
within the proposed bridge construction area, presenting the results of the field
exploration, and presenting recommendations to guide design of the proposed

structure foundation system. We accomplished these tasks by advancing Standard


Penetration Test (SPT) borings, obtaining soil samples, and measuring groundwater

levels within the proposed bridge area. Static pile capacities were estimated for
the chosen deep foundation system following FDOT procedures utilizing SPT
N-values. The computer program FB-Deep (version 2.02) was used for these

TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES

Traffic Studies

Transportation Engineering

Traffic Study services include the preparation of traffic


impact analysis and studies for a wide variety of public
and private projects. The preparation of studies includes
an analysis of project impacts on the roadway system,
the identification of appropriate mitigation measures, and
a summary of recommendations. The layout and design
of conceptual improvements needed to mitigate these
impacts are also services offered by Peters and Yaffee.

To supplement the traffic engineering design


services, Peters and Yaffee also offers related
transportation engineering design services.
These services include the design of related
intersection improvements, such as ADA
pedestrian access ramps; curb & gutter,
sidewalk, turn lane channelization, roadway
widening and drainage. Design services for
roadway design, roadway improvements
and reconstruction and parking facilities
are also offered by Peters and Yaffee.
Other services offered include
stormwater permitting, roadway
drainage, maintenance and
protection of traffic design, utility
coordination, construction scheduling,
estimating and specifications.

Other traffic studies include Signal Warrant Analysis,


evacuation plans, and the preparation of access,
circulation and parking studies. Another important
service provided is the preparation of safety studies.
Safety studies included speed studies, pedestrian
and bicycle safety, high accident location studies

Traffic Operations & Design


Traffic engineering design services include the design
of pavement markings, signage, traffic signal and traffic
signal interconnect. These services include the
preparation of complete Plans, Specifications and
Estimates (PS&E). Other design services include shared
use path, parking lot layout and traffic calming devices.

Mr. Peters is a Roadway Engineer


with over 10 years of progressive and
responsible engineering experience.
He has experience in roadway design,
roadway improvements and reconstruction projects.
Mr. Peters has been involved in all aspects of
roadway design including pavement design,
roadway drainage, stormwater permitting utility
coordination and erosion control. Mr. Peters
has extensive experience with construction
specifications, cost estimating, project scheduling
and cost benefit analysis. Other relevant experience
includes the design and coordination of maintenance
and protection of traffic plans. Mr. Peters is a
registered professional engineer in Florida.

Russell Yaffee, P.E., PTOE


Mr. Yaffee is a Traffic Engineer with over 17 years of engineering experience
in both the public and private sectors, including department management
experience. Mr. Yaffee has experience in the preparation of traffic impact
studies, level of service analysis, pavement marking design and parking lot
layout and design. Extensive sign design experience including construction
detour signs, guide signs, motorist information signs, wayfinding signage
systems and trailblazing signage systems. Experience in traffic signal design
including proposals, development of plans and specifications, intersection design, and geometric design. Additional experience in intelligent transportation systems, including ramp
metering design, variable message sign design and lane use signal design. Other relevant
experience includes project and construction management. Mr. Yaffee is Member of the
National Committee on UniformTraffic Control Devices (NCUTCD) Technical Committee for
Guide and Motorist Information Signs (G/MI).
Mr. Yaffee is a registered professional engineer in the following states:
