The school improvement team met to follow up with the


external review from a few weeks prior. We focused on the
accuracy of our self-reflection and the next steps we will
1 take in the school improvement process.

I was able to meet with the learning consultant and a


veteran teacher to debrief on my presentation of
standards-based grading to the staff. We focused our
discussion on ways to increase teacher buy-in by
presenting small chunks of philosophy and giving teachers
2 time to process these ideas before introducing big change.

Attended the research symposium for education specialist


students to see the research being done in the area. It was
great to hear about the successes and ideas explored in
5 many schools throughout Oakland County.

Set up and ran the annual Award of Excellence assembly


with my co-chair. The assembly recognized students for
2 their positive contributions to school culture.

Building Leadership

Met with the secondary council on teaching and learning to


develop a strategy to recruit new members to the
committee for next year. We tried to create a fair election
process that allowed for us to accept members across
departments and buildings to make sure that all teacher
2 voices are heard.

Ensured the safety of students by chaperoning the senior


prom. I was able to shadow the principals to observe their
3 role throughout the entire process.
