Saber has the appearance of a young woman, short with pale skin and a

well-developed physique. She has golden hair with greenish blue eyes, and
usually can be seen wearing a brilliant armor with an old fashioned dress of
blue cloth. She can often be found with a calm but stern expression in
public, however she can often be found cracking a smile during a good meal
or when ill at ease, she surprisingly also enjoys gambling of all sorts.
She was born in the capital of the human realm of Ascalon as heir to house
Pendragon. The only heir of Uther Pendragon and Igraine Shephir, her
infancy was filled with the sort of lessons that were expected of a young
child of a noble family: Horsemanship, history, art and politics were all drilled
into her thanks to the diligence of various tutors who were quite often quite
demanding.
On her tenth winter her uncle Ector tired of being unable to see much of his
niece due to her staggering amounts of lessons decided to introduce her to
the family tradition of swordsmanship, in the hopes of being able to spend
more time with her. Much to his surprise and of everyone else in the family
she proved apt at the art of combat, learning quickly and in a short span of
months able to hold her own against her uncle.
Such aptitude however did not come without problems as in her teenage
years. Her martial skill made her proud, somewhat arrogant and served to
set her aside from her peers: She often found it difficult to relate with
others, the women seeing her sparring as not something a proper lady
should engage in and the boys her age found it difficult to be with someone
of her gender who could quickly send them off with an impressive display of
bruises in but a flurry of well-placed blows. As such she often found herself
on the company of her own thoughts when she was not otherwise engaged
in practicing her craft with her uncle.
One particular incident of note that helped shape her path was when she
accompanied her uncle to a a friendly tourney to observe how he fought
against different opponents. Sir Ector of House Pendragon was a skilled
combatant and was easily capable of sweeping through the tourney and one
of the participants knew that he stood no chance against Ector and so he
had one of the drinks in the rest area poisoned with a particular brew: one
that would dull his mind and slow his reflexes in the hopes that he could
impress a certain lady he was courting.
However as fortune has it the one who consumed this beverage was not
Ector but young Saber and as such he was able to gain victory but not
without a cost: Sir Ector was a giant of a man and as such the cider was
spiked with an appropriate dosage. Saber weighted but a fourth of what her
uncle did and as such she received twice of what should have been a lethal
amount of poison. Thankfully due to the fact that she was in robust health
she survived, but with a particular vulnerability to heavy ingestion of toxic
or poisonous substances.

Saber was not one to let such a thing stop her and as such when she could
stand and practice once again her training continued and as such she left
her teenage years and passed into adulthood. Her uncle continued to train
her and became one of her closest allies for he treated her like the son that
Uther never had and as such he brought her up like a father and helped
refine her into what he hoped would be a fine knight. He taught her that one
of the most important things to remember:

That all men are weak at some time in their lives, a knight protects those
who are weak, and uses his strength for others. Strength does not make one
capable of rule; it makes one capable of service.
A knight should always seek to defend life, he never kills unnecessarily, and
never risks his own life for frivolous reasons. Living is harder than dying,
ones duty is to live free.
That the way we accomplish our goals is often more important than the
results: That there are always several ways to achieve a goal. Failure is
preferable to winning through unjust means. Protecting ten innocents is not
worth killing one, For in the end, all men die.
