3. Technical Tour:

- There are 2 technical tour:

a. Technical Tour I: October 13, 2010, Merapi Sabo Dam


The Merapi Volcanic Mountain is one of the 129 active volcanoes in
Indonesia and it stretches 30 Km on the northern part of Yogyakarta city.
Merapi Sabo Dam facility is to suppress the energy force of deposited eruption
material, to prevent slope sliding on the upper part of tributaries, to regulate,
localize and to control the debris flow, in order to reduce the destruction
downstream. The tour will end with a marvelous sunset at the most famous
ancient Buddhist temple in the world, the "Borobudur Temple", built around
800 AD.

b. Technical Tour II: October 14, 2010, Project SRI


The SRI methodology (System of Rice Culture Intensification) was
implemented in Yogyakarta Special Province since 2005 under collaboration
study between Ministry of Public Works and Department of Agricultural
Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture Gadjah Mada University. The tour will
end with a marvelous sunset at the most famous ancient Buddhist temple in
the world, the "Borobudur Temple", built around 800 AD.

c. Study Tour History Seminar


Will visiting:
• Kedulan Temple
The Pananggaran and Sumundul stone relief were found on the Temple’s
site. At the stone relief of the year 791 of Caka calendar or the year of
869 AD it is stated that there was a weir structure (Dawuhan) serving the
entire area. The farmer that are settled in the beneficiary area are taking
water from the weir for irrigated agriculture which are subject to payment
of water service fee in terms of gold.
• Prambanan Temple
The magnificent Hindu temple of central Java and Yogyakarta is located
about 17 km to the north east of Yogyakarta city.
• Plaosan Temple
The Plaosan Temple was built by King Rakai Panangkaran from
Syailendra IX Dynasty in The 19th Century. The area surrounding
thetemple were often flooded. To overcome the problem, the King built
drainage system to control the floods. The remains of the construction are

drainage canals structure with channel length 10.0 meters and height
approximately 5.0 meters.

4. Side Event:

There will be some side event, such as:


a. Seminar on "History of Irrigation in Eastern Asia"
The seminar will focus on historical evolution of an irrigation system and
associated governance mechanisms, as well as adaptation measures (innovative
mechanism or technology) to cope with rapidly changing economic, social and
environmental conditions surrounding irrigated rice farming, in particular under
small land holding, high sediment transportation and high water fluctuation
(drought and flood).
b. Workshop on "Sustainable Development of Lowland Areas and Tidal
Marshes"
As of origin of mega biodiversity in Indonesia, Lowlands can be categorized into
the conservation areas and the suitable developed areas by the reclamation
process. Hydrological the lowland areas differentiated into the tidal affected
Lowlands and the non tidal areas.
c. Workshop on "Impacts of Climate Change on Irrigation and Drainage
Development and Management"
The Seminar will focus on adaptation methods and tools to build up the strategy
for sustainable irrigation against effects of climate change.
d. Special Indonesia - India Session.

7. Exhibition:

- There are 44 booth (3x3m) and 9 booths (3x2m) available

- Facilitation in each booth are 2 unit chairs, 1 unit desk, 1 unit lamp (40 Watt),
carpet, MCB 2 Ampere and fascia.

- Becoming Diamond sponsor as main sponsor will get complimentary exhibition
space of 6 sqm in prime location of Exhibition area.

8. Visa Arrangement:

- All foreigners wishing to enter Indonesia must have a passport valid for at least
six months from the date of arrival along with proof (tickets) of onward or return
passage. Please contact the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in your country before
the Conference in order to check if you require any immigration necessary to visit
Indonesia.
i. Free Tourist Visa
Non-extendable visa-free entry to Indonesia for 30 days is available to
passport holders of Brunei, Chile, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Malaysia,
Morocco, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
ii. Visa on Arrival
The Visa on arrival's fee is classified into: USD 25 for maximum stay of 30
days. Visa on arrival is given to nationals from 63 countries, i.e Algeria,
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia,
Canada, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Fiji, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan,
Kuwait, Lao PDR, Latvia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg,
Maldives, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Panama,
People's Republic of China, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Rumania, Russia, Saudi
Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Suriname,
Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Tunis, United Arab Emirate,
United Kingdom and United States of America.

- Passport holders of all other countries and non-tourists of the aforementioned


countries must obtain a valid Indonesia visa at Indonesia Embassies or Consulates
in their home country prior to departure to Indonesia.
