Modkit Crimp Cards

Knob Card rev.B

Parts:

(1) Knob, (1) Nut, (1) Washer

(1) Modkit Crimp Card™

(4+) Short Crimp

Tubes, (6+) Long
Crimp Tubes

(3) Orange LEDs (1) 10k Ohm (3) 75 Ohm (1) Black, (1) Red, (1) Orange,
Potentiometer Resistors (3) White Hookup Wires

Build:

1. Start by adding the LEDs and knob to the

card, fit in the holes near the middle of
the card. For the LEDs make sure the
shorter lead goes in the bottom hole (flat
side down).

2. Cut and strip wires in the lengths below.

Strip a longer amount on one end of each
long wire, so that they can be plugged
into your Arduino.

3 inches 3 inches

3 inches 1½ inches

5 inches 1
Build (continued):

3. Bend both LED leads and add long crimp

tubes to both leads. Insert the leads
half-way into the long tubes and squeeze
them with pliers to crimp.

Connect all three 75 ohm resistors

together with the short black wire using 1
short tube.

4. Attach all three white wires, and the red,

orange and black wires to the
potentiometer, along with the short black
wire with the resistors attached.

5. Attach each remaining LED lead to each

resistor.

6. Use some tape to secure the connector

wires to the board (to keep them from
touching each other and creating a
short).

Example Modkit Sketches:

This Modkit Sketch will make all three lights

blink (with the middle one blinking in reverse
order).

In this example the 3 LED wires (white) are

connected to pins 9, 10 & 11, and the orange
potentiometer wire is connected to Analog
Read pin 0.

Also don’t forget to connect the power (red) and

ground (black) wires to the 5V and GND
connectors on your Arduino.

This second sketch will change the brightness

of the LEDs based on the position of the knob.

It uses the same card setup as the first

example.
