COMPUNERILE

My Family

My family is very important to me. It is made up of my parents, my brother and my grandmother.

My mother is a short lady with long black hair and black eyes. She is very kind and always teaches me good thinks. She is a nurse and works in a
hospital. My father is taller than her and his hair is fair. He works as a policeman in my town. My brother is younger than me. His name is Alex. He goes to
kindergarten every day while I go to school. We often play together or watch cartoons. Our grandmother lives with us. She sometimes reads us stories in the
evening and she makes a cake for us every weekend. I must tell you that she cooks very well.
I love my family very much and I hope they will always help me in everything I do.
School

My school is a modern building where I go every morning to study and to be with my colleagues and teacher(s). There are twenty-five students in
my class, fifteen girls and ten boys. My deskmate is a girl called Ioana. She is also my best friend.
Our classroom is bright and warm. There are some charts and posters on the walls and some plants on the window sill. In front of the desks we have
a blackboard, but I don’t like writing on it because my hands get white with chalk.
Our teacher is an old lady, very calm and patient. She teaches us Romanian, Maths, Music and Art and History. We also have a PE teacher and we
go to the gym for the PE class. My favourite school subject is Maths and I’m good at it too. I also like English a lot, and I hope to study it in the future as
well.

Animals

There are many animals on Earth and many of us have an animal at home, to keep us company.
Some animals live on the farm, but others live in forests or deserts. Among the farm animals are the cow, the pig, the hen, the cat, and man’s best
friend, the dog. I don’t have a dog, but my grandmother has one and I really like playing with it when I visit her. From the wild animals I can name the
tiger, the lion, the camel, the giraffe. My favourite is the zebra, because it looks like a horse, only it has stripes on it.
These beings are important to people, especially the domestic ones, since they give us food such as milk, eggs or meat. People also use sheep’s
wool. Sometimes men go hunting in the forests and they shoot wild birds or deer whose meat is also good.
I think animals should be protected because some of them are in danger of disappearing for ever. This happened to the dinosaurs a long time ago, but
at that time there were no people to protect them.

Holidays

Holidays are important for people because they all need to relax from time to time. In order to do this they can go to the seaside or to the mountains,
in the country or abroad.
 Holidays at the seaside are great fun: you usually go there when the weather is fine and you can lie on the beach, swim in the sea, make sandcastles
or collect shells. Some people also go fishing or others go surfing on the waves.
In the mountains you can take walks in the forest, pick up mushrooms, have barbecues with your parents or friends, or admire the view from a cable
car. If you are lucky, you can even see some cute animals like squirrels or deer.
If you don’t have a chance to spend your holidays away from home, you can always enjoy your free time by doing other relaxing activities like
watching TV, playing computer games, playing ball with your friends and, of course, reading.
No matter what you do, you must try to make the best of it, because school or work start soon after.

Food

No one could live without food, so you understand that this is a vital ingredient of our daily life. But not all food is good for us.
Doctors recommend us to eat plenty of vegetables and fruit, because they are high in vitamins. We also have to drink milk every day and eat
products such as cheese or yoghurt for they contain calcium. Fish, meat and eggs are also important, but they should be cooked in a healthy manner.
My favourite food is the mushroom omelet. The recipe is very simple: you beat the eggs in a bowl, add salt and pepper, then chop the mushrooms
into thin slices and add them to the mixture. You fry the omelet and then you serve it with salad. It is delicious breakfast.
I have ideas for lunch and dinner too, so maybe I will write a cookery book some day.

Toys

All children like toys and even grown-up people admire them. They are fascinating things that make our childhood really nice.
People think that some toys, such as dolls or medical kits, are for girls, and other toys, like cars or bakugan brawlers are for boys. But I know that
this doesn’t matter. There are girls who play with balls and boys who like kitchen objects.
My favourite toy is a plush elephant that I got for my birthday one year. I like all toy- animals for children, but this one is special to me. What I like
the most about it is that I can use it as a pillow to sleep on it, because it is quite big.
I also enjoy computer games, but my parents don’t let me play on the computer very often.

Jobs
 Work is very important for people to live because through their work they produce things that are necessary in our life. That is why people have
jobs.
My father is a firefighter and he gets to help people a lot. When there’s a fire or an accident, his team is called and they put out the fire or give a
hand to the ones in trouble. My mother is a dentist. As you can guess, she treats our teeth. When I grow up I would like to be a computer programmer. I
think this is the most interesting job because you learn how to do all kinds of things on a computer. You can even invent new games and then sell them to
children.
In the end, I would like to say that all jobs are important and we should respect the ones who work.

The Four Seasons

The year has four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. All of them are nice for different reasons.
The first season is spring. The birds start to sing, it is warmer and all the flowers start to bloom. The next season is summer. I like summer because I
can go out and play and I also have a lot of time for this, because we are on holiday. After that comes autumn when school starts and the weather gets
colder and rainy.
But the season I like best is winter. I can play in the snow, children sing Christmas carols, they get presents from Santa Claus and everybody seems
really happy all the time.

My Town

My town is called Suceava. It is situated in the North of the country and I like it very much.
There are beautiful parks, fountains, big shopping malls, but no cinema. When I meet my friends, we like going downtown and roller-blade there in
a park. We also visit Stephen the Great’s fortress and the Village Museum in the open air. The town also has a History Museum and a Natural Science
Museum with an aviary with live birds. This is a big attraction for tourists.
Sometimes in the summer there are live shows on a stage outside, where famous bands come and perform their songs. On different occasions, there
may be fireworks as well.
I really hope we will have a cinema soon, because I like seeing movies on big screens.
Shopping

Shopping is an interesting activity for many people, but especially for children. I love going shopping with my mother because she always buys me
whatever I like.
We are lucky to have many shops in my town, markets and hypermarkets, as well as the Mall. At the market we can buy fresh fruit and vegetables
which are good for our health. In supermarkets we find almost everything we need, from food to clothes and toys. The Mall is a special place because there
we can see many shops of different types: clothes shops, bookshops, jewelry shops, places where they sell only shoes or only music and so on.
Like any child, I like buying toys and music CD’s or video games, but also books from time to time. I also buy a lot of sweets. There is one problem
with shopping, however: you run out of money pretty quickly.
