There are various ways of reflective analysis, these are:
a. Questioning what, why and how By ensuring I am able ask questions around all areas of my practice. b. Seeking alternatives By continually looking out for different ways of doing things even if my current approach seems to work well, eg asking others how they might approach a similar idea, topic or theme. c. Keeping an open mind By being open to taking new ideas on board without being dismissive or critical, eg when there is a new initiative or scheme taken on by the school. d. Viewing from different perspectives By being receptive to the thoughts and views of others and looking at things from their point of view, eg taking into account the views of staff, parents and children. e. Thinking about consequences By thinking about how any changes in my role might affect other areas of my work, eg changing the amount of support a child has will affect the child. f. Testing ideas through comparing and contrasting By looking at different approaches and ideas, possibly those I have thought of myself, or of others suggested to me or that I have read about. g. Asking what if? Being one step ahead by questioning in different situations and considering alternatives. h. Synthesising ideas By adapting ideas so that they consistent throughout the school. i. Seeking, identifying and resolving problems Using the identification and resolution of problems as another opportunity to developing skills, eg by being aware that problems dont go away and that they need to be managed proactively.
