Most of the mistakes we make could have been avoided if we had not
been in a rush to say or do something and only observed a moment of
silence. It is wisdom to not do or say anything when we are angry, sad,
feel frustrated, hungry, happy, elated etc. We should not be impulsive
and make decisions on the spur of the moment especially concerning
important matters that we’ll live to regret later. Remember the king
during John the Baptist days for whose foolish promise the preacher was
beheaded or king Darius during Daniel’s day? The Bible says ‘…he that
believeth shall not make haste (Isa.28:16). So please observe a moment
of silence the next time before you sign those papers, before you hit your
wife or child, before you open your mouth in cursing, before you make
that promise or commit yourself to a cause. Observe a moment of silence,
it might save you many untold heartaches.
