SKILL RELATED:

1. Agility - Stop, start, and change directions quickly.

2. Balance - Control body position while standing still or


moving.

3.Coordination- Make movements work together smoothly.

4. Power - Use strength quickly.

5. Speed- Perform a movement or cover a distance in a


short period of time.

6. Reaction- How quickly an individual responds to a


Time stimulus.

HEALTH-RELATED:

7. Cardio- Engaged in a physical activity for long periods


Vascular of time, due to a strong heart, healthy lungs,
Fitness and clear blood vessels.

8. Muscle- Produces force using muscles.


Strength

9.Muscular- Use muscles many times without tiring.


Endurance

10. Muscle- Move joints fully through a wide range of


Flexibility motion.

11. Body – The ratio of muscle to fat in the body.


Composition
Physical Exercises Vocabulary List

1.Circuit Training- A routine of physical activities performed in


sequence and emphasizing muscular power,
and/or cardio respiratory endurance.

2.Cool Down- Brief, mild exercise following vigorous


exercise to ensure a gradual return of bodily
function to a resting metabolism.

3.Duration- The length of time required to complete a


given physical activity.

4.Frequency- The number of days per week one engages


in a prescribed exercise-training program.

5.Intensity- The physiological stress on the body during


physical activity.

6.Isometric Exercise- Exercise in which muscle contracts when


pressed against an object that prevents it
from moving.

7.Isotonic Exercise- Exercise in which muscles shorten or


lengthen as they move.

8.Pace- The rate of speed at which an activity or movement


proceeds.

9.Warm-up - Brief, mild exercise to prepare the body to


engage in vigorous physical activity.

10.Weight training- The use of external loads in an exercise


program to develop muscular strength
and/or muscular endurance.

11.Aerobic Exercise- A steady state of exercise during which the


heart can supply as much oxygen as the
body needs.
