Discussion:

I. Propane

1. During the combustion process of propane gas it is observed that the flame
produced by this fuel is blue. From the readings (gas analyzer data) it is
stated that only little amount of oxygen produced from this fuel which
explain why the flame is blue. It can also be concluded that it is a complete
combustion process
2. The thermal efficiency of the combustion for Propane gas is highest than
Diesel thermal efficiency because a combustion process is completed if all
the carbon in the fuel burn to CO2 for their losses
3. It should be noted that complete combustion is impossible to achieve. In
reality, as actual combustion reactions come to equilibrium, a wide variety
of major and minor species will be present

CO2
O2
C3H8 COMBUSTION
Air CHAMBER H2O
N2

II. Diesel
1. The flame produced by diesel fuel during combustion process is orange-red
and spatter flame. This explain, the type of combustion occurred is
incomplete and some of the carbon ends up as CO

2. The thermal efficiency of the combustion for Diesel gas is lower than
Propane gas thermal efficiency because The combustion process is
incompleted if the combustion if the combustion products contain any
unburned fuel as CO for their losses

3. Incomplete combustion is much more common and will produce large

amounts of byproducts, and in the case of burning fuel in automobiles, these
byproducts can be quite unhealthy and damaging to the environment.

CO2
O2
C12H26 COMBUSTION
Air CHAMBER H2O
N2

Conclusion:
As a conclusion, we had finally achieved the objectives of the experiment that are to
study the effect of variable air fuel that show on combustion and gasses product and to study
the heat and energy balance of the combustion unit. If we compared between propane gas fuel
and diesel fuel, combustion process that using propane gas fuel as a source of combustion is
more efficient and it is better than diesel fuel as a source.
