Nasogastric (NG) tubes are one of the most commonly used medical devices, however,
at the same time their use is frequently associated with pain, discomfort and other
related complications. The NG-Shield offers patients requiring indwelling NG tubes the

Indwelling Nasogastric tube related pain and injury (soft tissue trauma and related complications) cause
unnecessary patient suffering and morbidity, may prolong hospitalization and add to the cost of medical
care. Nasogastric intubation may result in nasal septal trauma, nasal ulceration, painful swallowing,
sinusitis and esophagitis.

NG-Shield helps you treat NG tube related pain, discomfort and complications
NanoVibronix’s NG-Shield represents a novel approach to the treatment of pain, discomfort and other
NG tube related complications. NG-Shield generates
low intensity, low frequency ultrasound waves on the
surface of the indwelling NG tube. The surface acoustic
waves induce a lubricating effect, thereby decreasing
friction and interaction time between the tube and the
tissue. The reduction in friction and interaction time,
significantly reduce mucosal abrasion thereby
decreasing NG tube related complications.
