I believe that this movie is one of a kind. It greatly differs to the ones that I¶ve watched.
The Joan of arc accentuates to the faith of a believer. The fidelity grows more and more as the
character learns from her past experiences, dreams, premonitions and faith. The most
unforgettable part of the movie is when Joan was put into a test if she¶s still a virgin, which is a
sign of purity and was truly sent by God. I was shocked, and at the same time, was terrified by
the culture of putting the person who contradicts the law of the church to death through burning
the person µtil she dies. I think that the church has unjustly made a decision. It was really
preposterous for me to see a person dying for being condemned by the church itself. If the
commandment states that thou shall not kill, then why is it that the church still permitted to kill
the person and do it by itself? Justice must, in my opinion, have to be done accordingly, if a
person was guilty of committing something that is opposing to the law or, law of the church.
Faith comes with an action, words and sacrifices«a lot of sacrifices. The movie was so
fierce, that I tried to convince myself that it was just a movie. But it was not just a movie. It is
bounded by devotion, and dedication of oneself to the most high. The essence here, I deem is the
faith of Joan of arc, and the dignity that never perished in spite of the condemnation, censure,
and denunciation of the church to what the former believed in. Church must be the foundation of
faith and not a foundation of fault. It must, in morally speaking, do and act what is right, and not
what they think is right, for the benefit of the church itself and for the foundation of the
believers. In my opinion, the wrong decision that they made was a great mistake. And probably,
if the church decided to give the chance and believe in what Joan of Arc foresaw, dreamed, and
that she was able to talk to God personally, perhaps, the church would have been built a greater
