The product focuses on a niche market. It is a wrist wound device which keeps
you linked via satellite. The device has unlimited satellite connectivity with
Summary: holographically projected 3D display, satellite time, GPS, USB 2.0 connectivity
and voice commands. It has a rugged and water proof carbon fibre outer shell to
help it tackle the wildest terrains...

Process impact: This proposal, along with drafts of related documents, will be used by
management to determine whether or not to approve work on this project. A clear and precise
project plan helps set expectations that will be used later to evaluate the success of the project.

Background and Motivation

The people who work as wildlife photographers and people, who travel, usually find it
difficult to access their home or office while globetrotting.

What is the setting and history behind this project?

The recent study has clearly shown that people who work as wild life photographers, traveling
reporters etc find it difficult to access net and stay connected when they are in inner areas of
earth. So to solve this problem our company had designed this product to make easy access to net
to those people who always wanted to stay connected.

What is the problem to be addressed?

The problem is of difficulty to stay connected during outdoor work. Also unavailability of
access to net at convenient time.

What are some current approaches to this problem?

Currently if someone wants to stay connected they should be at the area where they have the
signal coverage of the service provider. All the time it is not possible.

Why is this problem worth solving or worth solving better?

Mashio Sojourner is a mixture of all the important things you need during a travel. It also has
mp3 player, holographic projection, satellite time, unlimited internet connection etc...
How will this product be better than previous approaches?

There are other products in the market which can only provide access to net when they have
signal coverage in that area. Also to get all these facilities one must carry different items. In our
product all these facilities are incorporated in a single watch.

Goal

What is the goal of this project?

This should be relatively short since you can reference terms defined above.
This project will produce an integrated device which provides the customer to stay connected
wherever they are.

What are the defining features and benefits of this product?

 It has unlimited net access.

 Global positioning system.
 It has a holographic projection system.
 It has a USB connector.
 It has voice command system.
 It is water proof.
 It is affordable, compared to other product.
 User friendly

Scope

The device is perfect companion for people who regularly ply through deep jungles, deserts and
mountains like adventurers, researchers or photographers to keep in touch with the outside
world.

Risks and Rewards

What are the main risks of this project?

The main risk of this project is accuracy of the device. If the product is not able to provide the
accurate result, then the product will be a big flop and will result in to a huge financial lose for
the company.

What are the main rewards if this project succeeds?

If the project is a success, this will be one of the unique products available in the market. It will
allow the user to stay connected in those areas where normal service providers don’t have
coverage.

Timetable and budget

 Schedule and duration: 2010/08/18 to 2014/8/19

 Budget: The budget is fixed for a category: local (recipient) contribution. The local
contribution can be an estimate of "in kind" resources such as salaries, equipment, etc.
The budget estimates should be computed on an annual basis (a 12 month period). The
budget for this project is estimated to be Rs 25 lakhs

 Indirect costs: Here the administrative costs not directly related to the research are as
follows.
o clerical, accounting, or secretarial help;
o general office expenses;
o office rental and utility charges;
o non-capital office furnishings;
o communications costs; and photocopying

These costs are expected to be at Rs 5 lakhs for 12 months.
