The Joy of Reading
Goal：To improve students' listening, speaking, reading, writing and typing skills in Chinese.
Participants：All current students.
Date：From Oct. 1, 2008 to Mar. 31, 2009.
Method：Students should spend at least 20 minutes a day listening, speaking, reading, writing and/or typing
in Chinese to earn one point (limit one point per day).

Activity Details
L Listening Chinese CDs, tapes, parents reading stories, etc...
Conversation, participating in the story telling contest, speech
S Speaking
contest, reciting in Chinese, etc...
R Reading Chinese books, newspapers, magazines, etc...
W Writing and/or Chinese homework (limited to 8 times a month)
Watching Chinese TV, tapes, movies, etc...
T Typing Participating in Chinese typing contest

Bring your monthly Reading Log to your teacher on the first week of every
month. The teacher will give you a Monthly Certificate. This certificate
will record your points for each month.
Monthly Prize

At the end of the program every participant who has a total of 80 or more
“The Joy of Reading” points can get a prize and Certificate of Participation.
