    VACATION PERIOD DURING COMMONWEALTH GAMES


    (2ND OCTOBER 2010 – 17TH OCTOBER 2010)

    1. In view of travel restrictions during the Commonwealth Games in

    particular for those coming from Delhi, it has been decided to

    declare a vacation from 2nd October 2010 – 17th October 2010.

    During this period the University shall remain completely closed.

    2. To compensate the resultant academic loss of 7 working days , it

    has been decided to make up for the same by working on each of

    the Saturdays in the intervening period, as per under-mentioned

    schedule:-

    3. The timings during the above mentioned schedule shall be strictly

    as per normal week days as applicable for faculty, students and

    staff, except on 4th September 2010, which shall be 09:00 AM to

    01:30 PM (for all) due to Minor/ Sessional Tests scheduled on said

    date.

    4. The above applies to all Programmes including Ph. D. (Engg.) and

    Management. However, for Ph.D, the respective Departments of

    School of Engg. & Technology and for all Management

    programmes, School of Management shall issue their respective

    programmes keeping the schedule mentioned in paras 2 & 3

    above,in view.

    5. The University shall resume normal functioning from 18th October

    2010 onwards as per current schedules. ‘Momentum’ dates shall

    be intimated separately.

    6. This is issued with the approval of the Governing Body. It should be

    ensured by all HODs that this is communicated to each class &

    section by an announcement on 5th August or 6th August 2010,

    since the first teaching Saturday is on the 7th August 2010.
