Esteemed president of this evening Dr.K.T. Varkey, principal, CMS College of Science
and Commerce, honorable chief guest Mr. Jose Paul,

Respected vice principal Mr.C.K.Venketesan, controller of examination, CMS College of

Science and Commerce, distinguished guests member of the faculty, my dear young
graduates , ladies and gentleman’s….

It is a matter of grant pleasure to welcome you all to this inaugural ceremony of two
days residential intercollegiate meet organized by Department of Electronics. C.M.S.
College of Science and Commerce, Coimbatore.

Prayer

Prayer is an action. It is the process of talking with god with energy in order to achieve a
purpose.

So let us begin this inaugural ceremony by seeking the blessing of the load almighty
with a prayer song.

I now request Ms. Vibha, 1st M.Sc. applied electronics, to grace this occasion with the
prayer song.

Introduction about the college:

CMS College of science and commerce is one of the premier institutions of higher
learning in Coimbatore.

CMS College of Science and commerce was established in1988 by the office bearers of
CMS educational and charitable trust, which is a non-profit organization.

The campus can be justifiably proud of a peaceful, congenial atmosphere ideal for
academic pursuits with excellent infrastructure.

CMS college of Science and commerce offers 17UG and 13PG courses besides
research programs in nine disciplines.

The college got UGC recognition in the year of July2003.

The institution also earned the ISO 9001: 2000 Certification in April 2004.

The college was accredited at the ‘A’ level by NAAC in May 2005.

The CMS College of Science and Commerce was granted autonomy by the UGC from
the academic year 2007-2008.
College has signed MOU’s with universities like James Cook University, Australia and
Worcestor University, London.

Different tongues and different cultures cohabit our campus.

Introduction to the Dept. of Electronics:

Electronics department aim at providing quality education in the field of electronics

The department of electronics offers degree program at the Undergraduate level in

electronics and communication system from 1993. It also offers post graduate programs
in applied electronics from 2004. The department also offers M.Phil in Electronics.

Department of electronics also has excellent infrastructural facilities with state of the art
laboratories.

Using manpower and infrastructure the department aims to provide flexible life style
friendly education in the field of electronics.

Department has team of well qualified experienced and dedicated faculty and technical
staffs to guide the students to reach success in life.

Presidential address:

It is indeed a matter of pride for us that Dr. K.T. Varkey, our esteemed Principal, C.M.S.
College of Science and Commerce, is presiding over the inaugural ceremony. He has
impressive credentials comparable to those of the best of educators in accredited
college and universities across the nation. He is a distinguished professor of political
science. He has more than thirty years of experience in teaching and administration. We
are privileged to have you sir, on this Dias to preside over this function.
On behalf of this august assembly, I extent to you, a very sincere and hearty welcome.

Inaugural address:

It is a great honor to have in Mr. Jose Paul, Chief Guest of this evening who despite his
very pressing engagements has kindly accepted our invitation to grace the occasion by
being the chief guest of this ceremony.

On behalf of the management, CMS Educational & Charitable trust, on behalf of the
principal, staffs & students of CMS College of Science Commerce and behalf of every
one assembled here, I extend you, sir, a very sincere welcome.

Ice breaking session

Long distance relationships are a true test to one’s commitment and personal limits.

Some people find it difficult to bridge the distance through communication, others
become overly obsessed with, what other’s is doing when they are not there and as a
result, they special down a load of jealousy and suspicion. The key is balance and
following some basic steps to keep your relationship healthy and strong through proper
understanding, faithfulness and positivity.

Personality development program

For an individual to be a part of the working community or the world academic circle, it
is essential to have an attractive personality; a personality that doesn’t hide words to
make its presence known. A well rounded personality is one that has confident
countenance an assertive yet likable way of speeking and nature that attracts people
naturally.

Over all, personality development program will assist as to develop into an individual
who is confident and successful and also ready to contribute positively to the society
and to the world at large.

Hon’ble chief guest Mr. Jose Paul is here to share his valuable lerning experience to
mold us into well groomed personality.

Dinner:

Food is insignificant in our lives though it may not be the chief requirement for
sustaining life, we depend on the kind of food we eat to have energy for broad variety.

So here we now break up for our dinner, our student volunteers will guide the out
participants to dining table. We will reassemble in Lyceum at 9P.M for cultural
programs.

Cultural programs:

People from throughout the world favors entertainment as a livelihood get busy and
hectic; entertainment is required more for the change in mood for the refreshing mind.

Yoga & Meditation:

The practice of Yoga & Meditation relies upon various Positioning of the body. Through
practicing Yoga, we can enable flexibility and physical fitness. Deep and concentrated
meditation can help an individual to attain greatness and power in their own lives. By
completing the techniques of Yoga with the principles of meditation, however, an
individual can experience great enlightenment both mentally and physically.

Breakfast:

Now we disperse for Breakfast and refreshing our self for today’s Program.

We request all of the participates to reassemble in the same hall sharply at 9 am

E –Weaver Duration: 1 Hour

An event aimed to test the technical skills. A circuit should be identified from the
given resources, then to be drawn and pasted on a thermocol sheet with a good
creativity and perfection.

Rules:

1. Maximum of TWO teams/college (THREE Participants/team).

 2. Allotment of the circuit is by lot system.
3. Maximum time duration is one hour (The identification of the circuit and drawing
& pasting it on the thermocol sheet).
4. Components required for the design will be provided.
5. Participants should bring their own pencils, pens, sketch set, rulers, gum,
thermocol sheet etc.
6. In case, the participants cannot able to identify the circuit within half an hour, they
may be provided with the circuit on request but with 50% reduction of points.

Refreshment:

If your working life does not leave you with much time for yourself, it is time to pause
and reflect. Your body needs relaxation. A light refreshment can really help you relax
and rejuvenate with a refreshed mind and a glowing face.

We now request all the respective coordinators to guide the participants to the
refreshment table.

Facial Tattoo Design Duration: 45 Minutes

An event aimed to test the creativity. A tattoo should be designed on the face of
the participant based on the allotted title by their counterpart.

Rules:

1. Only TWO Participants / team.

2. Topic will be given on the spot.
3. Objective of the Painting should be explained to the judge for
about 3 minutes on completion.
 4. Participants must bring necessary materials for Facial Painting like Paints, Brush,
Cups, Handkerchief, and Mirror etc...

Thrust for Circuit Duration: 1 Hour 30Minutes

An event aimed to analyze the presence of mind & practical skills. A working
circuit should be constructed after finding the circuit and components which were
spread out in the campus using cyclic clues.

Rules:

1. SIX Participants per Team is Compulsory.

2. Participants should find/get the circuit and components only through cyclic clues
which is available in the entire campus.
3. Using multipurpose PCB board, the circuit should be constructed and output
should be shown.
4. Time allotted to find out the circuit and components is 45 minutes.
5. Time allotted for constructing the circuit is 45 minutes.
6. If participants fail to find the circuit with-in the specified time duration, they will be
given a chance to construct the circuit but with 50% reduction of points.

Lunch

One of the best ways to ensure health and affordable nutrition is to bring your own lunch
to work. By bringing your own lunch to work you can rest assure that you are consuming
a well balanced meal each and every day. Let’s face it.

Logic-AND Duration: 1 Hour

An event aimed to test the reading skills. A specific sentence / words should be
identified from the given books.

1. SIX Participants/team.

2. Finding out specific sentence / words from the book.

3. Technical word or sentence is given as a clue.

Jumbling Slide Duration: 1 Hour

An event aimed to test the technical & logical reasoning. Slides should be
arranged in technical and logical order from the jumbled set available on the computer.
Using the arranged slides, an oral presentation should be given.

Rules:

1. FOUR participants / Team.

2. Topic will be given on the spot.
3. Lot system will be followed.
4. Topic will be related to any branch in Electronics.
5. Time duration to arrange the slides in order is 45 minutes.
6. Time for oral presentation on the topic is 10 minutes.
7. Feedback session is 5 minutes.

Go Green Ever Green

Participants are requested to prepare small skits of about 10 mins duration each on a
topic related to environment.
Culture Extravaganza

Participants may also present variety entertainment program of about 15mins durations

General Rules and Regulations for all events:

1. Violation of any rules will lead to the disqualification from the events.

2. Participants should be present at the venue 15 minutes before the commencing of

each event.

3. All the programs will be conducted as per the correct schedule.

4. Judges decision is final and binding.
