Monroe Elementary Art, Music and P.E. Dates For the 2010-2011 school year Dear Parents, During the school year, your son/daughter will have the opportunity to participate in either a Music/Art showcase night or a Physical Education night. The following grades have a P-E. night: Kindergarten, Second and Fourth grade. The following grades have a Music/Art showcase night: First, Third and Fifth grade. The First/Second split class will participate in both the Music/Art and P.E. nights. In addition, there will be an opportunity for all fourth and fifth grade students to join the Monroe Choir in January. All evening events will begin at 7:00 p.m. During these evenings, students will be asked to arrive at the school about a half-hour prior to the performance in order to get lined up. On the Music/Art evenings, the evening will begin with a half-hour music performance in the gym. The Fifth Graders will be participating in a talent show and that evening will last longer. Following the music performance, students will meet parents back in their classrooms, and then have the chance to "show of f" their super art work and enjoy refreshments in the cafeteria, On the PE. nights, students will be displaying skills they are working on in P.E. and parents will be part of an interactive evening with their kids. The following is a list of dates for the year: Music/Art showcases Physical Education nights December 16: 3rd Grade December 14: 2nd Grade March 24: Ist Grade February 3: Kindergarten April 28: 5th Grade March 17: 4th Grade May 12: Choir Watch for additional letters to be sent home prior to your child's nighttime event. Fisica Para el afio escolar 2010-2011 Estimados Padres de Familia, Durante el afio escolar, su hijo(a) tendré la oportunidad de participar en una noche de presentacién de Misica/Arte o Educacién Fisica. Los siguientes grados tendrén la presentacién de Educacién Fisica: Kindergarten, Segundo y Cuarto. Los siguientes grados tendré la presentacién de Masica/Arte: Primero, Tercero y Quinto. La clase combinada de Primero/Segundo participard en la noche de presentacién de Musica/Arte y Educacién Fisica, Ademds, todos los estudiantes de cuarto y quinto grado tendrén la oportunidad de formar parte del Coro de Monroe en enero, Todas las presentaciones serén a las 7:00pm Durante estas noches, se les pedird a los estudiantes que lleguen a la escuela media hora antes de que empiece la presentacién, para que podamos hacer fila. En las noches de Mésica/Arte, la noche empezard con una presentacién de miisica de media hora en el gimnasio. Los estudiantes de Quinto Grado participarén en un concurso de talentos y esa noche serd més larga. Después de la presentacién de misica, los estudiantes se reunirén con sus padres en los salones de clases, y luego tendrdn la oportunidad de mostrarles sus maravillosas obras de arte y tomarse algtin refresco en la cafeteria, En las noches de Ed. Fisica, los estudiantes demostrarén las habilidades que estén trabajando en Ed.
