Analyzing and Synthesizing is for Me

It was a very tiring semester. And it even went worst when the end of the
semester was about to get nearer. One of the many requirements that we have to fulfil
is the argumentative paper. At first I was pessimistic about this paper. I had a hard time
to choose a topic. It is also hard for me to decide what will I side on my topic and the
strong arguments that I need for my paper to be very effective. And as I started doing
my paper, the process actually helped me to rethink and be critical on what my topic will
need to have. As I go on with the different stages, my topic has started to clear my
thought and reflect on my topic. Doing this argumentative paper, I have partly
developed my analyzing and synthesizing skills.

While doing this paper, for me the skill that I used most of the time is to analyze
my topic and major points which are my premises. I carefully break my major topic into
concepts for my possible premise. In choosing the two major points that I have, I had to
ask myself first why news should be regulated. Also, I got my ideas from the books that
I read in relation to my topic. I also did brain storming on my own and ask for advises
from my friend and from the consultation that we had. Aside from those, as I analyze my
topic, I was very focused with small details as I read my book sources.

For the time that I started to write my paper, I wanted my introduction to be a

general and then going to my topic that for me will be the specific part. And as I started
to write the body of my paper, i was actually untangling the major topics from their usual
use to use and fit to my topic. It was actually hard for me to write the body because that
was the time when the unrelated points are bind together for the cohesion and transition
proposes. But more than that, it is also the time for the ideas to fit together and to fit for
the major idea.
 For me, I partially developed both my analyzing and synthesizing skills. It is the
most used skills that I had to develop to finish my 10 page argumentative paper. At this
moment why writing this reflection paper, everything that i have done and suffered for
writing that argumentative paper is worth doing for. It is not just a paper done for the
sake of having something to pass but a paper that taught me to be critical and has
made some development with my analyzing and synthesizing skills.
