Analysis of draft digipak:

After research, we found that our target
audience were fans of piercings.
Coincidentally, Chloe has a tongue piercing,
and we thought we could take a ‘fun’ image of
with her with her tongue on show. Also, the
notion that this image is playful and fun would
generate a personal response from fans as it
makes the lead singer seem like a real person
and somebody with emotions as she is
smiling; Fans of bands and musicians are
appreciative of more personal images so that
they feel connected to their artist.
Again, both images follow the same idea
of deep red and pale colours. This was so
that our digipak followed a theme instead
of being a set of disjointed images and
words.
Also, when unfolded, the inside right
panel faces the inside left panel so we
used our initiative to take pictured from
opposite sides of Chloe’s face so that they
could look into one-another. We thought
this would be effective as it is an original
technique and again reinforces the
individuality of the band.

Similar to the tongue piercing, Chloe’s

nose piercing is on show which we edited
in order to make it more prominent
making it visible to the consumer.

As you can see, we have taken positioning into account for all of our images; Chloe’s face and
hair is generally the central focus of the digipak although there are two panels which differ. We
chose to have Chloe’s face as the focal point as this would establish a relationship with fans and
the images are also very eye catching which may cause people whom are not fans to look at the
digipak and want to know what kind of music the band make.
