3. Membership of Parliament

The President announced that the French authorities had informed her that Mrs Anne Ferreira,
Mr Alexandre Varaut and Mrs Dominique Vlasto had been appointed Members of Parliament, to replace
Mr Hollande, Mr de Villiers and Mr Karoutchi with effect from 18 December 1999, 17 December 1999
and 1 January 2000 respectively.

She welcomed these new Members and drew attention to the provisions of Rule 7(4).

4. Membership of committees

Parliament approved the following appointments, at the request of the PPE-DE, PSE and EDD Groups:

3 Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs: Mr Blokland;

3 Committee on Employment and Social Affairs: Mr Sumberg;

3 Committee on Regional Policy, Transport and Tourism: Mr Bradbourn, replacing Lord Stockton;

3 Committee on Culture, Youth, Education, the Media and Sport: Mrs Van Brempt;

3 Committee on Constitutional Affairs: Lord Stockton, replacing Mr Bradbourn;

3 Committee on Petitions: Jonathan Evans, replacing Mr Dunn.
