What does the angel tell Joseph?

(The answers are in Matthew 1:18-24).

Come for the second Sunday in Advent.

We will learn about Mary and Joseph traveling to
Bethlehem!

“Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look

the young woman is with child and shall bear a son,
and shall name him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

Read your Bible story for next week!
(You can find this story in Luke 2:1-7).
Mary’s baby was almost ready to be born, but it wasn’t
quite time yet. First, Mary and Joseph had to travel to
Bethlehem. It was a long trip from where they were in
Nazareth. The trip would take them almost three days.
(They would be walking and riding a donkey.) Finally,
they arrived, but there was nowhere for them to spend
the night. Then a kind innkeeper allowed them to stay
in his barn. There in the barn in Bethlehem, Jesus was
born! Mary laid him on a bed of hay in a manger.
Draw a picture of Jesus in a manger.
Set aside some quiet time with God this
morning. Pray and ask God to help you
focus on the true meaning of this season.
Thank God for sending Jesus to earth.
Practice your memory verse. You can find
it on the front of your GPS! Help your
other family members learn it, too!
As you spend time in the car, listen to
Christmas music. Discuss your favorite
song with your family. Ask your family
members about their favorites. What new
song could you learn this season that
would help you all focus on Jesus and His
birth?
Sometime this season, spend the night as a
family around your Christmas tree. Give
thanks to God for each light that reminds you
of Jesus, the Light of the World. Praise God
by singing Christmas carols. Pray for those
who do not know Jesus. Commit to sharing
the good news of his birth this Christmas.
