Burton
 Tim Burton was born on
August 25, 1958 in Burbank,
California. His love for
drawing and movies
blossomed at a young age.
After graduating from high
school, Burton enrolled at
the California Institute of the
Arts. By 1979 he was a
drafted Disney animator.
 In 1992, Disney recognized his
immense talent and allowed him to
create his first short film, Vincent
with Burton's personal hero Vincent
Price, as narrator. In 1984 he
created Frankenweenie, which was
considered too dark for children, so
Burton was assigned to direct Pee-
wee's Big Adventure. After this
Burton went on to direct the surreal
film Beetlejuice. Burton's dark
perspective and vivid creativity
made the film a perfect example of
his style. He was given the chance
to direct his first big-budget film
with Batman in 1989 which was a
major hit.
 In 1990 Burton directed
Edward Scissor hands, casting
actor Johnny Depp in the lead
and in 1991 Burton directed
Batman Returns which many
people, especially parents,
found the film too dark for
teenagers.

Sleepy Hollow (1999), Big Fish
(2003), Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory and Corpse
Bride in 2005, Sweeney Todd
(2007) and Alice in wonderland
