PROPOSAL

Topic : Study of Employers' Requirement in Campus Selection at


KSOM

Broad Objective :To Study of Employers' Requirement in Campus


Selection at KSOM.

Specific Objectives:

a. Find out criteria for selection adopted by various employers .


b. To study the various attributes required at various selection stages
c.  Find out ways to improve placement at KSOM

Methodology:

For this we have conducted a sample survey of 30 students out of


which 15 are placed and 15 are yet to be placed. We asked them about
the stages they went through for selection & which attributes they
think important to get through these stages.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Our project is all about study of employer’s requirement in campus


selection at KSOM, Bhubaneswar. KSOM is one of the leading B school
in Bhubaneswar. This project will give the clarity about the placement
procedure of KSOM. Along with the different criteria for selection, its
component and subcomponents. Also the company’s preference for
the students and various factors.

For this, we designed a questionnaire and conducted sample survey.


We distributed our sample into two groups- placed & yet to be placed.
Our target sample was MBA-2 passing out students. And find out the
different attributes which is looked upon by the companies at KSOM.

Here we are testing whether the groupwho are placed and who are yet
to be placed are different in terms of GD,AT ,PI and overall ratings.
From the table we can see they are highly significant that is We will
they accept the NULL hypothesis that they are different .

From this frequency distribution we can see that Communication Skills is a vital
factor because of which some get placed early and others get placed late.

We can see that bringing companies to the college and improving the domain
knowledge is quite essential to improve placement in KSOM.

In the Regreession analysis we have taken dependent variable as overall ratings


in the students gave in the last selection process & Independent variables we
have taken as the ratings of the students in GD,AT & PI in the last selection test.
Y = a + b1x1 + b2x2 + b3x3
Y = .630 + .401 x1 + 5.128E-02 x2 + .519 x3

From the Regression we can see that GD & PI plays an important role in getting
the overall rating but AT doesnot contribute much.

INTERPRETATION:

By CROSS-TAB we are seeing that which attribute is Important or less


Important for various stages of selection & we are also seeing whether
there is association between them or not through Chi-Square Test.
 Communication is very important for all the stages of selection &
there is strong relationship between them.
 Subject knowledge is very important for all the stages of selection.
 CGPA is less important for all the stages of selection .
 Personality is very important for all stages of selection.
 Job Experience is less important for all the stages of selection.
 Positive attitude is very important for all the stages of selection.
 Confidence is very important for all the stages of selection.
 Physical fitness is less important for all the stages of selection.
 Family Background is less important for all the stages of selection.
 Social Skills is very important for GD & PI but not that important
for AT.

CONCLUSION:

We have we have conducted a sample survey of 30 students out of


which 15 are placed and 15 are yet to be placed. We asked them about
the stages they went through for selection & which attributes they
think important to get through these stages we found the important
stages for selection generally adopted by employers to recruit and
select from KSOM and we also got various attributes and their
importance for selection stages.

By this we have fulfilled our specific objectives.
