1. First open your PowerPoint file.

2. If the Developer tab is not present on the top Office Ribbon in your installation of PowerPoint. Follow
these steps to make it appear.

(a) Click Office Button (seen on top extreme left of your PowerPoint Window) > PowerPoint
Options > Check the box which says “Show Developer tab in the Ribbon”
(b) Now when you click OK you would have the Developer tab as the rightmost tab in the Ribbon
3. Thereafter click “Developer” as shown to the right.

4. Click More Controls as shown in the right.

5. Scroll down in the box More

Controls and select Windows
Media Player.

6. Your mouse cursor should now turn into a cross-hair pattern like this >> +.
7. Press left button and drag a rectangle of your choice on your selected slide.
8. Right-click on the just created rectangle and select Properties.
9. You’ll get a new window >> Go to the top most selection which is
(Custom) in the right end over the three dots …
10. Browse to the movie file you want to
insert and select it.

11. You can make additional adjustments

in the box as seen to the right.
12. Finally click Apply.
13. You should now be able to view the film
in Slide Show mode. In this method you can
make on-screen adjustments to the volume/
Full Screen etc etc.
