be keyed in as 500, $1 would be keyed in as 100, and $2.56 would be keyed in
as 256.

Press the Royal Alpha 9170's #ST/NS button to get a subtotal that does not
include tax.

Press the "amount tend/total" button on the Royal Alpha 9170 if the customer
paid in exact change.

Key in the amount the customer gave you, if he gave you more than the amount
of the sale.

Press Royal Alpha 9170's "amount tend w/total" to finish the transaction and
calculate how much change the customer needs.
