    Isa po sa mga preliminary signs ay ang:

    LIGHTENING

    Ano po ba ang lightening? Ito po ay ang unti-unting pagbaba ni baby sa tyan ni


    mommy,nangyayari poi to 10-14 days bago manganak. Medyo hirap po bang huminga
    ang ibang mommy dito? Dahil po yan sa paglaki ni baby, dahil pos a malaki na si baby
    naiipit nya nap o an gating baga kaya po tayo nakakaramdam ng mabilis at medyo hirap
    na paghinga, pero dahil pos a lightening o pagbaba ni baby dun po natin
    mararamdaman ang paggaan ulit n gating paghinga. (base sa diagram)

    Ang sunod po ay ang

    INCREASE IN LEVEL OF ACTIVITY

    O eto po ay pagiging energetic ni mommy, dahil poi to sa pagtaas ng hormone


    sa ating katawan dahil inihahanda nya po an gating katawan sa emerging gagamitin
    natin sa panganganak.

    Reaction

    I consider that The Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Education Program is very
    effective and is very important for enhancing the awareness of the family before
    discharging them from the hospital about the danger signs of violent infant shaking.

    We should encourage this educational program not just in foreign country but we
    should include this here in the Philippines for us Filipinos to know that violent shaking is
    the number 1 cause of infant death all over the world.

    This Educational Program also lessens the child abuse as the people become
    educated. Shaken baby syndrome may cause several injuries including blindness or
    eye damage, developmental delay, seizures, spinal cord damage, brain injury and
    death.

    Nursing Implication

    As a student nurse, we should definitely know The Shaken Baby Syndrome


    (SBS) Education Program, because nurses are the one who are responsible for
    educating the parents about the dangers of violent infant shaking. Nurses should
    describe the challenges and opportunities about this in implementing a large community
    health program.

    This Educational Program was also first implemented by two nurses as the
    coordinator of this program. This is very important for nurses because in this journal it
    also shows that nurses serves as resource nurses for the nurse managers and provide
    them with updated information because that was the most effective in keeping the
    program moving forward.
