General Guidelines and Mechanics (college)

lntroduction
CESAFI Computer Quiz Bowl is an annual competition, among other equally-important academic
fields, between Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation lncorporated (CESAFI) member schools.
Specifically, it aims to improve the quality of computer/lT education and foster camaraderie
among Cebu schools, colleges and universities. Furthermore, it serves as basis of the CESAFI
Board for Cebu representation in the regional and national contests.

il. Coverage/Body of Knowledge

The contest is split into two parts with the following specifications:
a. Part t - General tnformation in Computing
This is an elimination part. lt has 3 rounds in it according to degree of difficulty of
questions - EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT rounds. All teams shall answer all questions
of the 3 rounds. All three rounds will randomly comprise of the following computing body
of knowledge:
i. Computing Fundamentals
ii. Computer Organization and Architecture
iii. Data Communications and Networking
iv. Programming and Software Engineering
v. Data Structures and Algorithms
vi. Operating Systems
vii. Databases
viii. Web and The lnternet
ix. Computer Trends
b. Part z - Computer Programming
Only the top 5 teams who made it based on the results of Part t shall qualify in this part.
This part will involve problem solving with the use of any of the following programming
languages:
't. C / C++ (lDE: Turbo C, MS Visual C++)
z. Java (lDE: TextPad, JCreatorlE, NetBeans)
3. VB (lDE: VB6.o, Visual Studio.NET)
ilt. Participating 5chools
Each CESAFI member school can send only t team which will comprise of two (z) bona fide
students who are currently enrolled as certified by the Dean or any.legitimate representative.
Entry forms with pertinent requirements (e.g. Birth Certificate and Transcript of Records) should
be complied on or before the set deadline for validation and verification.

CESAFI Computer Quiz Bowl zott is scheduled on Saturday, February fi,2o7t at z:ooPM to s:ooPM.
Deadline of submission of the entry forms with complete attachments will be on February 8, zor.
