Communication plays an important role in delivering healthcare effectively. It involves the exchange of information through various methods to create shared understanding between individuals, taking into account cultural diversity and barriers. Effective communication requires mutual understanding, awareness of patient behaviors and language, the ability to satisfy patient concerns immediately, and consideration of patient sensitivity and culture. As populations become more diverse due to migration, healthcare professionals must develop transcultural communication competencies to address issues surrounding cultural and racial differences.
