    Proposal

    My final paper will be an independent project, and discuss the controversies of the Larry
    Fitzgerald film ͞Kids͟. This new age film realistically depicts the troubles in urban youth and the
    catalyst of the problems is AIDS. This 1995 independent project got a lot of critics and back
    attention for ͞being child pornography.͟ This film stays authentic to its message by casting
    young urban actors and filming a lot of people in their everyday life. I will mainly focus on the
    message and the controversies. I will also touch upon how the mise-en-scene and
    cinematography impacted the films authenticity.
