We Group-4 (Marketing 1) have selected the ³Travel and tourism´ industry for our service
marketing project.

Why have we selected this industry?

India is land of great diversities, in terms of geographical terrains, culture, tradition, people, and
languages and so on. World remained fascinated by India since ages and so many intriguing
travelers have journeyed the vast expanses of our country and have documented their
experiences for attracting others to follow.

But still there is a huge unexploited potential in this industry. Our tourism industry is a major
contributor towards our GDP and a source of livelihood directly or indirectly to millions of
people. With growing reach of telecommunication, internet and other national and international
media this industry is witnessing a significant growth in tourists (Domestic and international).
We are also aware of challenges for this industry ex. Terrorism, infrastructure etc. A huge
percentage of this industry is concentrated in unorganized sector and we feel that doing this
project would be very helpful to us in understanding the dynamics for this amazingly exciting
service industry.

Our sources of information for this project would be:-

2.c Sanghi travels ( We are in touch with one of their important official)
3.c Marketing journals, magazines, newspaper etc.
