To Whom It May Concern: Wednesday, March 02, 2011
It is my duty to recommend Medi Ocre for consideration as an applicant to your school or business. Medi was a student of mine at The Center for Advanced Research and Technology during the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 school years, and I am well-acquainted with his personality, work habits, and academic ability. Academically, Medi performed below expectations in my Database and Technology classes. He maintained a D average which represents minimal effort on his part. It was obvious that he took his studies as a joke and gave up on the concepts that we covered, and his mediocre participation reflects the depth and breadth of that understanding. He is a capable individual, and he works as little as possible with other students in a project-based environment. Regarding his professionalism, he voluntarily participated in less than 50% of our lab's optional Professional Dress days this year, and he types an average of 18 words per minute. Medi is uncommitted, a person whom you cannot depend upon. I regularly had occasion to doubt his integrity, and he sporadically proved true to his word. His work ethic needs improvement. He always missed assignments and on rare occasion made up any assignments missed during an absence. He has a negative attitude about his work, and he does not see the value in working hard to accomplish his goals. He followed our classroom policies mostly and I frequently had to reprimand him for violating them. His attendance was acceptable for the class—he was absent fewer than ten days per semester, and he was rarely tardy. He demonstrated average leadership qualities and would be irresponsible in a position of responsibility. He has proven to me that he will be challenged by the demands of college or work, and I recommend him with much reservation for your consideration. Given the right opportunities, Medi has many challenges ahead of him.
