The Mahamandleshhwar's come forward for the Puja of “Maa Ganga”. As the Hindu belief goes, firstly Tulsi Puja is being done, as
Tulsi is considered as a mother and also very sacred in Puja. A single leaf of Tulsi makes everything pious. Tulsi is a consecrated plant
that holds lot of importance for the traditional Hindus. Tulsi symbolizes devotion, love, responsibility, virtues and miseries of
women. This Indian basil is worshipped by females, thus it is very important for the Puja of Ganga also. On the completion of puja,
leaf of tulsi is distributed as Prasad, with the belief that this act would enable them to take the Holy Spirit inside them.

Later, Abhishekham with milk is performed, as divine blessings radiate out towards all those present providing protection,
purification and spiritual elevation. At the end flowers are being offered, because we offer the deity what has blossomed well in us.

The holy Ganges now has been offered with every pure thing,
and at the end its water is put on the head to have her blessing
and the “Aachman” of the Ganga water is done. The water is so
pure that it is being taken as “Prasad” by everyone before the
Shahisnan.

The Mahurat comes, and all of them with the last chants of
Mantras, with their Swords, Bhala's and other weapons jump in
the holy Ganges. It is the a time for celebration, there were
smiles everywhere, the whole atmosphere filled with screams
and shouts of the Nagasanyasis. They performed various Yogic
postures in the water, and got completely losted in the divine
after the bath. They were jumping, smiling and performing
various kinds of acrobatic skills during the Shahisnan.

This was the time for the Shahisnan to end with the last ritual of
“Bhasmdhulangan” by thousands of Nagasanyasis on the Ghats.
This was a mesmerising sight, which would make anyone feel
close to the divine.
