03: TRANSPORT SOCIETY
Assignment 1
In recent years levels of gases which create the “greenhouse effect” and thus lead to
climate change have been increasing in the atmosphere. Activities of deforestation and
the burning of fossil fuels have caused the concentration of heat-trapping ‘greenhouse
gases’ fo increase significantly. The levels of gases are increasing at a faster rate than at
any time in hundreds of thousands of years. Increases in global temperatures will most
likely change our planet's climate in ways that will have significant long term effects on
people and the environment such as higher temperatures, changes in precipitation
pattems, rising sea levels, and more frequent weather-related disasters. Predicting the
nature of this change in a specific region of the world is fraught with difficulty, but the
overall risk of significant warming has led most countries to agree that the problem must
be tackled, and work together to do so.
You are required to discuss this issue within transport related examples. What are the
effects of these scenario to the world and ultimately to find out the solution for this
problem.
