Social Network and Internet Marketing

Social networking is the most favorite word for teenagers now days. When it comes to online
social networking, websites are commonly used. These websites are known as social sites. Social
networking websites function like an online community of internet users. Depending on the
website in question, many of these online community members share common interests in
hobbies, religion, or politics. Once you are granted access to a social networking website you can
begin to socialize.

Saying about the spread of social network in India think, which is the most popular social
networking site in India? It’s not Facebook, its Orkut. Comscore in its latest report tracked the
top social networking sites in India, and found that global social networking brands like Orkut,
Facebook, hi5, LinkedIn and MySpace continued to gain prominence in India during the year.

Social networking is inexpensive when examining the ratio of cost to the reach of the target
audience. Companies can reach a wide audience for a small fraction of traditional advertising
budgets. The nature of the medium allows consumers to research and to purchase products and
services conveniently. Therefore, businesses have the advantage of appealing to consumers in a
medium that can bring results quickly.

In the present paper we tried to elaborate the uses and the applicability of the social networking
in India and abroad.

To complete the paper we searched many emerging books in the field of current networking
scenario.

The paper will help reader to understand the history, scope with one case and the applicability in
positive sense.
