How to find stock prices for a ‘dead’ series (i.e.


delisted company) in Datastream
1. Through the Start menu of the PC, open the application Datastream –
Advance 4.0

2. Select the
category
equities

3. Click on the
series
navigation
button to search
for the data
series you
require

4. In the navigation
screen, key in the
name of the
required data
series (e.g.
patrick)

5. Then, select
status – dead
and click
search

6. From the results list, select patrick by clicking on its name

7. The data series patrick is now inserted in your search screen

8. Click on this

and select time


series data’

frequency
of the data
(e.g. daily,
weekly,
monthly,
etc.)
N.B. The default data type
is price (adjusted). To 10. Select the time period you

11. To execute the search click run now:

(this button is marked with * on the previous screen picture)

12. The results are displayed and may be exported to Excel

N.B. Amongst these tabs you can select from a


variety of ways to display the data, for example in
various graph and chart formats. After making a
selection, Click run now to re-display the data.
