20 years of serving Christ with ICM

Prayer Request- Six months ago we paid
the fee for zoning of the ICM property.
Though it should have taken about a .
month, it is yet to be done. Pray that the
zoning will be done soon.

Thank YOU!
On April 1 this year, Mary and I will have been on staff
with ICM for 20 years. Looking back it is obvious this
has been made possible by the many partners who of
their own free will rallied around us prayed for us, and/
or financially supported us. Many have written to us,
and some have come to Africa to participate in our
ministry. God gave us a dream, but as the saying
goes, “Team work makes the dream work”. It would
be great to list your names in this newsletter, but that
belongs to another place and another age. For now
may this suffice, a hearty THANK YOU! Thank you all,
those from Kenya, Tanzania, Canada, USA and UK.

We first met Phil Walker in 1985. The following year Phil and Debbie Walker, Myron and
Carol Goodwin launched a ministry that was later to become ICM. Five years later in April
Mary and I came on staff with ICM. As ICM celebrates 25 years of serving the Church in
Africa we celebrate 20 years of serving Christ with ICM. It has been a unique privilege be-
ing part of the ICM family.
The first ten years were in Kenya. It seems God was training us on the job in preparation
for what lay ahead– ministry in Tanzania. The next five years the ministry focus was to be
Burundi refugees housed in UNHCR camps in Western Tanzania. In the last five years the
main focus has been training pastors and other church leaders at BA and certificate level.
The goal is a mature African Church leading the global church in fulfilling the great com-
mission.
