INTRODUCTION TO HON.

MEYNARDO ASA SABILI

A businessman by distinction, a public servant by heart and a lawmaker by
practice, our next speaker had his high school at Batangas Eastern Academy
and finished college with a degree of Bachelor of Arts, Major in Political Science
from the University of Sto. Tomas, and completed Bachelor of Laws at Ateneo de
Manila. He never seemed to tire from studying because he also took up Masters
of Law at the University of Sto. Tomas.

During his college days, he did not confine himself to reading books and solving
case studies. He got equally busy with being the president of UST Political
Science Club (1977). Battalion Commander of the UST Reserved Officers (1978).
Team Captain of the UST Debating Team (1978). Vice President of Ateneo Law
Student Council (1980), and Ateneo Representative to the Department of Labor,
and later became a Free Legal Assistant Officer (1980-81).

He also became an active member of prestigious school organizations such as,

Aquila Legis Fraternity (Ateneo de Manila). Ateneo Law Alumni Association,
Aquila Legis Foundation, Inc., UST Alumni Association, and the UST Golden Cross
& Savers Fraternity. He is likewise a Reservist of the Armed Forces of the
Philippines.

As a professional, he got involved with the Quezon City Lion’s Club, the
Philippine Constitutionalist Association and later, became the Chairman of the
Nationalista Party under the Lipa City Chapter.

To date, he continues to be affiliated with several family owned companies,

such as the SABILI General Hospital, where he is currently the Chairman, the
President of three companies. MAS Customs Brokerage Corporation; the MAS
International Consolidators and SABILI Gloves Manufacturing Inc. Included in his
list of businesses links are HAZAMA Corp. of Tokyo, Japan and HAZAMA TAIZEI
NIPPON STEEL (Japan), where he is Vice-President and Consultant, respectively.

It is also notable that our speaker became a Senior Provincial Board Member of
the 4th District of Batangas for six years.

His passion and energy seem to know no bounds. He has proven to be

committed to both public service and the business world. And being used to
performing various tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, it is no doubt this
man will become one of the famous leaders of our city.

It is my great honor and privilege to introduce to you a man of stature, a man of

dedicated service, and a man of compassion to the people of Lipa, our
beloved, the mayor of the city of Lipa, Hon. Meynardo Asa Sabili.
