During his college days, he did not confine himself to reading books and solving
case studies. He got equally busy with being the president of UST Political
Science Club (1977). Battalion Commander of the UST Reserved Officers (1978).
Team Captain of the UST Debating Team (1978). Vice President of Ateneo Law
Student Council (1980), and Ateneo Representative to the Department of Labor,
and later became a Free Legal Assistant Officer (1980-81).
As a professional, he got involved with the Quezon City Lion’s Club, the
Philippine Constitutionalist Association and later, became the Chairman of the
Nationalista Party under the Lipa City Chapter.
It is also notable that our speaker became a Senior Provincial Board Member of
the 4th District of Batangas for six years.
