Suppose a is nonzero vector

a.b=a.c and axb=axc

But b<>c (b not equal c). Notice that b-c <>0 in this case

Also notice,

a.b=a.c a.(b-c)=0 ((b-c) perpendicular with a)

axb=axc  ax(b-c)=0 ((b-c) parallel with a)

Thus, the vector (b-c) is both parallel and perpendicular to a<>0. It follows that b-c=0 thus b=c which is
a contradiction. Therefore the preposition is true by proof via contradiction.
