WHERE DOES YOUR ENERGY COME FROM?

a. Point of View and Intended Solution.

Green washing is numbing people to the environmental crisis that our world is
facing. I want to create a line of awareness posters about clean energy. The project will be
called “Where does your energy come from” It will address that fact that many states are
not taking advantage of the clean energy resources available in their state to power local
households. My posters will convey their message without using the colors green or blue
to counteract our desensitization to those colors. Also as I have found in my research,
green is one of the most toxic pigment colors. My posters will incourage people to write
to their state government and ask them to take steps toward clean energy solutions.

b. The SPECIFIC audience you are addressing.

The audience I’m adressing is people across America mostly in the East Coast
because they are not as advanced in their clean energy programs. It will appeal to people
who are sick of all the posters, logos, and commercials that rely on the stereotypical im-
agery and colors used whenever addressing issues having to do with the environment. My
imagery will be simple and iconic so that the message is conveyed quickly without much
reading.

2. Visual Implementation: This is your MOCK UP f a designed object or experience. You

will present THREE color variations. These variations will represent different “angles”
that may be possible solutions. These are NOT just three different color palettes (called
COLORWAYS). Each VARIATION should present a different solution to the problem.
We will vote on which variation should move forward! SO, STRETCH your decisions
and inventive abilities in this area!!! SHOW us what you SEE!!!!!!!!
Stencil Art

Make homemade paint and add vegetable pigments for color.

Stencil on recycled brown paper bags or the street/walls. The
“posters” would say “Where does your energy come from and
would show a simple icon that shows one of the clean energy
resources available.
NATURAL HOMEMADE PAINT
Pinwheels for clean energy

Create pinwheels out of recycled brown paper bags. On the inside will be infor-
mation about local clean energy options and what you can do about it. All ink
colors will be based on all natural vegtetable pigment colors.

The color pallette would reflect the subtle variaton in natural pigments.
vegatable pigments
Printing on plastic bags

Repurpose plastic shopping bags as posters. These will draw atten-

tion because it is unexpected. The important thing about color for
this concept is for it to be bright and high-impact and be visible on
a plastic bag.
