Statistical thinking is a mode of thinking that includes both logical and analytical
reasoning. It evaluates the "whole" of a problem, as well as its component parts, and attempts to
assess the effects on the whole of changing one or more variables. It attempts to understand not
only problems and solutions but the processes involved. This strategy is paralleled with the
objective mathematics education in KBSM which emphasize mathematical reasoning. In the
current practice, the learning of statistic only concentrated on procedural skill instead of KBSM
emphasize on creative thinking, reasoning and problem solving. On the other hand, web based
learning is viewed as an effective means of delivering courses in education because this method
can support students-centered learning. Nowadays, many schools encourage their students to
learn through e-learning which they subscribed web portal in market. Unfortunately, these web
portals are too exam oriented. Different from the web portals in the market, this web portal
focuses on statistical thinking strategies. The web portal was constructed on a course
management system software mane Moodle. Moodle is interactive and user friendly while
supporting the principles of social constructivism. To ensure the developments are systematic,
ADDIE’s models are adopted. This web portal provides a lot of interactive activities which
develop using Lesson, Quiz, Assignment, Forum, Chat, and Journal that provide by Moodle.
Besides that, the learning environment is enhancing with interactive graphics, audio, video and
animation.
