I. Objectives: Introducing the student to characteristics of antennas, impart practical skills to
methods of analysis and design of antennas for various applications.
II. Major Topics: Introduction and overview of antennas; Radio-spectrum; Electormagnetic
fundamentals, Maxwell equations for radiation problems’ solution; Antennas basic
characteristics; Dipole and monopole antennas; Antennas above the round plane; Loop
antennas; Antenna arrays; Wire antennas; Patch antennas; Broadband antennas; Aperture
antennas.
