(i) What are the main goal/purpose of Statistical Inference?

Ans: Statistical Inference is the method of drawing conclusions from data that are
subject to random variation, e.g. observational errors or sample variation. The word
statistical inference is used to describe system of procedures that can be practiced to
accumulate conclusions from datasets arising from system affected by random variation.

(ii) Write down names of methods of allocation the sample size in stratified
sampling.

Ans: Stratification is the method dividing members of inhabitants into uniform


subgroups before sampling them. The strata should be reciprocally exclusive: every
element in the population must be assigned to only one stratum. The strata should also be
collectively exhaustive: no population element can be excluded.
