Module 1 Introduction: Definition of Entrepreneur, functions, qualities and classification of


Entrepreneur, Schumpters view of entrepreneur, Intrapreneur v/s entrepreneur.
Role of entrepreneurs in economic development, definition and concept of
Entrepreneurship, relationship between entrepreneur, entrepreneurship, enterprise.
Problems in developing entrepreneurship in India.
(5 Hours)
Module 2 Entrepreneurship for career growth: choosing a career path. Charms of becoming
an entrepreneur, being own boss, taking initiatives and personal responsibilities,
becoming independent and rewards. (4 Hours)
Module 3 Concept of entrepreneurship development, objectives , need and importance of
entrepreneurship development, institutions involved in entrepreneurship
development.(RUDSETI, RDF,CEDOK,DIC,KVIC,etc. (5 Hours)
Module 4 Types of enterprise and ownership. Manufacturing, service, and franchise, large,
medium, SSI, tiny, and cottage industries. (5 Hours)
Module 5 Institutional finance to entrepreneurs: SFCs, SIDCs, SIDBI, Commercial banks.
Incentives and subsidies available to entrepreneurs. (3 Hours)
Module 6 Business opportunity identification, preparation of preliminary project report, and
preparation of detailed project report. (8 Hours)

Module 7 Rural entrepreneurship:


Introduction, rural industries under KVIC purview, advantages of rural
industrialization, major challenges in the way of development of rural industries,
recommendations boost up rural entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship through
poverty alleviations programmes, experts from former prime minister’s address on
youth entrepreneurship and employment
Module 8 Women entrepreneurs:
Women entrepreneurship defined, women entrepreneurship environment,
challenges in the path of women entrepreneurship, strategies for development of
women entrepreneurs, empowerment of women by entrepreneurship, grass root
entrepreneurship through self-help groups(SHGs), institutions supporting women
entrepreneurship in India, women entrepreneurs in India, profile of successful
women entrepreneurs,
