Countdown to the Global Showdown

12 Universities compete in the 2011 Global Business Case Competition Hosted by Foster School of Business

SEATTLE, WA, Apr 6th, 2011- The 2011 Global Business Case Competition (GBCC) is an annual
international case competition that brings together undergraduate students from around the
world to compete in a fast-paced and challenging business case study at the Foster School of
Business.

For the past 13 years, GBCC has been one of the most prestigious international events of the
Foster School of Business. Twelve teams of four undergraduate students are invited to
participate for a week of cross-cultural interaction, business education, leadership
development, and an intense 48-hour case analysis which culminates in a presentation of
solutions and recommendations to a panel of corporate judges.

THE MOMENT IS HERE! The Global Business Case Competition 2011 will take place on the
week of April 11-16, 2011. The “Final Four” of the 2011 Global Business Case Competition
teams will square off in what can only be described as an “Epic Global Showdown” in the Global
Business Case Competition’s Final Round on Saturday, April 16 from 2 to 4:30 PM in PACCAR
Hall--Shansby Auditorium, Room 192.

Viewing the "Final Four" schools is a unique experience to witness the result of a grueling 48-
hour challenge to develop a comprehensive and creative solution to a real business issue that a
corporation has faced in the past or is currently facing. The extreme time constraint and need
to clearly communicate and deliver a solution, not only requires remarkable presentation skills,
but the ability to take classroom concepts. Consequently, the Global Business Case
Competition is relevant for many students, not just business majors.
